Letters of Love
I am already chosen, even when I least feel like it. I have been chosen to be a part of the great work God is doing. There is nothing I can do to be disqualified because I have been chosen without regret. I have been chosen to be a part of a royal priesthood and victorious kingdom. I am a citizen of Heaven, sent to earth as an ambassador. I was given a mandate… an assignment… a responsibility to execute the vision God spoke over my life. I have been chosen without regret.
There is no struggle, no slip up nor storm that can break you beyond God’s ability to heal you, so do not for a second believe the lie that you are too broken to be used by God. He has always had a history of using the “unusable”. The Bible alone is a book telling of the redemptive power of God; his ability to restore and make new. He used Moses, a murderer, to lead His people out of Egypt, he used Rahab, a prostitute, to help protect his people. He called Matthew, a tax collector, to walk beside him and be discipled. He used Ruth, a Moabite, to birth the lineage of King David. There is no such thing to God as unusable if your heart is willing to be used. He takes the ordinary mess of willing men to create extraordinary messages.
The game hasn’t been fair and the emotions you feel are valid. Your frustrations and the pain you feel is understandable, but your hurt is not beyond healing. It will all work together for your good because the unfavourable situations you can’t seem to escape and the undesirable circumstances you face will not define you, but they will refine you. You’ll become stronger, wiser, bolder, more compassionate, more content, more confident, more resilient. You’ll begin to see things differently not because the game became fair but because you played the cards you’ve been dealt. You used your scars to tell your story and your tests to form your testimony. I guarantee you this is only a part of your journey; it is not the end.
I’m sorry for being your loudest critic and your most silent cheerleader. I’m sorry that I encouraged you to “dream big” and with the same breath spoke doubt over your ambitions. I’m sorry for defining you by your lowest moments and tainting the view of your true identity. I’m sorry for not giving you grace to fall or fail, leading you to believe that you are beyond forgiveness or that you reside among the unlovable. You are valued, you are loved. You are chosen, you are forgiven. You are not perfect, but you are progressing and that is worth celebrating.
You were delicately formed and passionately kissed with life. Before you even graced the earth there was a purpose spoken over your life by your loving Father. There was a gift he placed on the inside of you that was meant to be discovered. That thing that would connect you to Him on earth and allow Him to shine through you for others to be reached. God placed you on this earth because it was time. It was the right time for others to receive the gift you have to offer. Many years later and the word God spoke over you is still relevant. Do not trade the gift God intentionally gave to you for something He gave to someone else. There is someone dependent on what you have to offer. They are waiting on something only you can bring. Do not trade that. You are unique in all your ways and there is beauty in your uniqueness.
